About Skater Dude

SkaterDude the logo comes from a text that the founder, Patrick Maiani, he made from a group of keystrokes back in 2008. Born from a moment and shaped by the skate, surf, and street culture, while shredding the beaches and streets of Montectio and Santa Barbara, it reflects how Patrick grew up—moving fast, staying loose, and finding joy in the everyday. The logo stands for freedom without rules, happiness without pretense, and flow as a way of life. Keeping that chill SB vibe alive, he crafted a brand as an ode to living free, staying happy and carrying the flow wherever you go.

PATRICK JOHN MAIANI, FOUNDER

Patrick John Maiani channels fourth-generation musical mastery from Frédéric Chopin’s direct lineage into the soul of Montecito, California. Raised amid the raw surf-skate revolution of the 1970s on Hermosillo Road — epicenter of professional skateboarding’s golden era — he fused classical virtuosity with coastal rebellion, endless waves, and unbridled creativity.

A pioneering pianist, songwriter, and educator, Maiani patented the innovative Letter Music reading system and commanded stages across Beverly Hills to Palm Springs. With brothers Rick and Nino, he forged the Maiani family’s enduring musical dynasty through iconic bands.

His simple doodle turned into a logo and now a brand inspired by his two girls because they were starting to learn to skateboard and soon to surf. SkaterDude™ emerged — an irreverent stick-figure skater igniting lightness, optimism, and creative freedom of life in motion.
